ASP Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi has emerged as a courageous figure after her bold intervention to rescue a woman accused of blasphemy. Her actions have garnered praise from both celebrities and the general public, who commend her for standing firm against the radical elements gathered at Lahore’s Ichhra Bazaar.

The woman, clad in attire adorned with Arabic calligraphy, became the target of the mob’s ire. However, ASP Naqvi’s timely intervention prevented a potentially perilous situation from escalating further.

Numerous videos circulating on social media showcase Naqvi’s unwavering determination amidst the chaos. Despite facing hostility from the mob, she managed to safely remove the woman from the market. In one video, Naqvi addresses the crowd, urging them to trust law enforcement and emphasizing that no blasphemous act had occurred.

The support extended by store owners further ensured the woman’s safety until the arrival of the police. It is noteworthy that many of those accusing the woman were mere onlookers, and the vendors selling similar clothing understood the misunderstanding.

The Punjab police has recognized Naqvi’s bravery by nominating her for the prestigious Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal. Punjab IGP Dr. Usman Anwar praised her courageous act, stating that Naqvi risked her life to rescue the woman from the violent crowd. This nomination highlights Naqvi’s exceptional commitment to upholding law and order in Pakistan.
