From the district of Jhal Magsi in Balochistan, the first female candidate has secured strong support from voters.
Rehana Bibi Magsi, contesting for the general seat in the Provincial Assembly from PB-11, is the sole female candidate. She mentioned that residents expressed confidence in her during the door-to-door election campaign. Political and social circles have also shown enthusiastic support.
Rehana Bibi stated her commitment to addressing the issues of the local community once elected, emphasizing her resolve to improve essential amenities such as roads, water, and electricity.
Rehana Bibi expressed her belief that her candidacy would inspire other women. She predicted that she and more women will participate in future elections.
She highlighted that the involvement of women in elections in remote and marginalized areas is evidence that the “gentle gender” is rapidly ascending the ladder of awareness for their rights. She concluded by saying that the day is not far when Pakistani women will reach the destination of rights and make their mark.
