Maryam Abbas, a graduate of Industrial Design from NUST, has been bestowed with the esteemed Muse Design Award for her exceptional thesis project, NEUROCLE. Her remarkable accomplishment of being awarded the “Silver Winner” title marks a significant milestone as the first Pakistani student to receive this prestigious honor.

The Muse Design Award, an international competition organized by the International Awards Associates (IAA), celebrates innovative creations and exceptional talent across diverse design disciplines. This recognition not only signifies a significant achievement in Abbas’s career but also holds immense importance for the field of design in Pakistan.

Among the numerous entries, Abbas’s NEUROCLE stood out for its remarkable approach in addressing the crucial requirement for therapy assistive toys.

NEUROCLE, an innovative therapy assistive toy, has been specifically developed to meet the distinct requirements of children diagnosed with Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy. This remarkable device serves as a valuable tool in improving posture, enhancing grip strength, promoting muscle development, and facilitating the development of both gross and fine motor skills in children affected by this condition.
