Islamabad: The Alpine Club of Pakistan has planned a rousing reception for Ms Samina Baig who climbed Mt Everest (8,848 metres) and became the first Pakistani woman to hoist the national flag at the highest point on the earth when she arrives in Islamabad today (Monday) from Kathmandu, Nepal, via Karachi at 5:45 p.m. by PK-308.

She will be accompanied by her brother Mirza Ali. A large number of ACP members, local students and her well-wishers from Shimshal, Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan, and other parts of Pakistan are expected to be present at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport to welcome this proud daughter of Pakistan back home.

Ms Samina Baig would be driven in an entourage to the Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad, where she, along with her brother Mirza Ali, and ACP officials would address a press conference at 8 p.m. at the Hamidi Hall.
