Gunmen kill two female polio workers in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: In another incident of targeting polio workers in the country, two women members of a vaccination team were killed here on Tuesday.

Police said unknown gunmen opened fire on a polio vaccination team in Badhber area of the provincial capital.

“A woman member of the team was killed and her colleague was seriouslywounded,” they said.

The dead body and the injured were shifted to Lady Redding Hospital Peshawar where the injured worker also succumbed to her wounds .

Soon after the incident, police and law enforcing agencies cordoned off the area and launched search operation.
