A woman in Belgium died because of the novel coronavirus after she selflessly refused to use a ventilator.

She asked her doctors to keep it for the younger patients instead.

Suzanne Hoylaerts was 90 and was hospitalised on March 20 following her deteriorating health due to contracting Covid-19.

She selflessly embraced death because of the global shortage of the ventilators.

Ventilators are the key medical equipment in the treatment of the novel virus.

This larger than life lady reportedly told doctors, “I don’t want to use artificial respiration. Save it for younger patients. I already had a good life.”

Her daughter Judith told a Dutch newspaper, Het Laatste Nieuws, “I can’t say goodbye to her, and I don’t even have a chance to attend her funeral.”
