Muneeza Hashmi appointed first woman chairperson of Lahore Arts Council

Former Pakistan Television (PTV) General Manager and daughter of prominent poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Muneeza Hashmi has been appointed Chairperson of the Board of Governors Lahore Arts Council. She becomes the first woman to hold this position which was also once held by Faiz himself.
Hashmi sees the Lahore Arts Council like a university where people get to learn something new about arts and society in the process of being entertained
She was of the opinion that the new generation will be provided with an environment in which they can further enhance their creativity.
muneeza 1“If the current government wants to focus on the youth than this has to go beyond just being a political slogan,” she concluded.
