Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has strongly condemned killing of senior journalist Athar Mateen in a daylight firing incident on a busy road of Karachi City.

PFUJ President Shehzada Zulfiqar and Secretary General Nasir Zaidi while condemning cold blooded murder of Athar Mateen demanded immediate arrest of his killers to brought them to justice and urged Sindh Government to take measures for providing safety and security to media community which is being compromised as attacks and violence against journalists are on the sharp rise in Sindh particularly in karachi. “This is a sign of ignorance and lethargy on the part of provincial authorities” they said.

They also urged PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to notice of the killing of journalist in karachi and direct provincial government to arrest killers of Athar Mateen.
