Decisive Impact in Pakistan’s 2024 General Election with Over 12.75 Crore Registered Voters | WMC
As per the Constitution of Pakistan, voting is deemed a fundamental right for every citizen, irrespective of gender. Nonetheless, there remains a concern about the potential deprivation of this constitutional right for millions of women. For the upcoming general elections in 2024, a total of 28,626 nomination papers have been collected nationwide. Out of these, only 3,139 belong to women, making up approximately 11% of the total candidates. This underscores the persisting challenge of ensuring equal participation of women in the democratic process.
